Usage Agreement
By registering with openphoto.net you agree with the terms contained within.
Cancellation of Accounts
We reserve the right to cancel accounts violating our policies. Any registered user may cancel their account at any time.
Email Addresses
You must use a real email address for registration. This requirement is aimed at preventing abuse of our resources. Accounts with fake information (ie: throw-away offsite spam accounts) will be assumed to be abusive and deleted.
We promise not to abuse your information. We rarely email our users.
Prohibited Images
You must not upload images matching any of the following criteria:
We reserve the right to remove images meeting these criteria on a case-by-case basis.
- Watermarked images (camera timestamps ok)
- Images of people, especially celebrities.
- Images you do not possess the rights to.
- Images containing commercial logos or copyrights.
- Images depicting graphic pornography or violence. (Nudes and documentary photography are permitted on a select basis)
Prohibited Activity
Sharing your password with others (especially on a public website) is basis for account termination.
Spidering our site with your login information is grounds for termination and appropriate countermeasures.
Public Exhibition
- All uploaded images will be made available to the public.
- Low-resolution watermarked versions to un-registered users, and the original copies to registered users.
- We make information on authenticated downloads available only to image owners.
- Once an image has been released to the public there is no way to revoke its release.
Mandatory Creative Commons Licensing
Each image must be released under a Creative Commons (http://creativecommons.org) License. By default images are released under the Attribution-ShareAlike License.
Selecting a license
If you would like to choose an alternate Creative Commons license for your work, please be certain to specify one via Account -> Manage Images once you login.
Exclusion of Liability
While we will take every effort to maintain the integrity of our archives, we can not be responsible for images harmed, deleted or destroyed through the use of our systems.
Backups
Please maintain local backups of your files.
Personal Information
We collect various information from you through registration and your use of the site. This information includes your name, email and profile information.
By registering with us you agree to recieve periodic email messages.
These messages are non-commercial in nature and are sent to inform our users of news, maintenance and other pertinent issues.
We will not trade, sell or otherwise disclose user information to any third party.
